It takes a village...

Until recently I was never clear on how many employees were involved in running the mill. I recently ran across payroll information that shed some light on this for me. In December 1977 they employed 9 shop men, 2 truck drivers, and 6 warehouse workers. That week the gross payroll was $2,425.93.

I didn't recognize most of the names, however James Luton was a name that jumped out at me. To this day, Jim is a custom woodworker in New York. To learn more about Jim and how the Mill influenced him go here.

It should be noted that additional information was also enclosed indicating family members Richard, William and Frank were also working at that time so there were at least 20 people working.
